I started reaching out to friends but not really feeling understood. My issue felt a little swept under the rug by some, which left me feeling a bit bewildered. And another said to me:

"Really? But you seem so confident and comfortable in your own skin Mel."

In the past I've had people describe me as 'melancholy' and 'chilled out'. I've had an ex-long term partner say in the heat of the moment "Gee, you seemed so together, but you're not really." (that one hurt... hence we are no longer together). I most definitely CAN be all of those things... BUT, we are all human... and if you are human, you will have feelings - and sometimes you just won't feel good. And feeling that way will be uncomfortable, perhaps even painful.. and most of all confusing. I don't hold any blame for those I reached out to, because how were they to know the level of discord I was feeling on the inside? Especially when it's not normal behaviour. But at the same token, never assume those around you who 'have it all together' don't have their moments. When I wasn't receiving what I felt I needed, it was then my responsibility to know what I had to do to make things better.

This incident totally took me by surprise, and I was SO happy to know how to handle it:

I knew the internal dialog I needed to question myself withI knew how to connect the dots to understand why it was happeningI knew the type of help I needed to get me throughI knew how to create a plan of how to change things

Join my Chakra Philosophy Course

& learn how to navigate yourself through difficult circumstances

I'm happy to say I did break through, and have felt so much more confident within myself than ever before. Saying this, I'm sure at some point down the track those shadow emotions will come up again... remember, we are human - and the hard times usually come when you are about to up-level your life.

The outside world doesn't happen to you... it happens for you.

4 Week Chakra Philosophy Online Course

Starts Monday 18 June 2018

It was
learning about our energetic Chakra System
6 years ago that turned my life around. Who am I talking to? Yoga Teachers, Healers, Consultants, Coaches & Spiritual Mentors, anyone that directly works with people and provides a service. Cast your mind back about 4 years ago or so... and Wordpress was THE platform to use for your website. It was when blogging was the latest and hottest way to create a following and potentially make money. At the time, the DIY platform alternatives were pretty mediocre. They didn't have the same design functionality, flexibility or automation systems in place. And this made them look... well, clunky and DIY.

In 2017 DIY Websites are rockin' it! Why?

Because of ease & grace when it comes to making simple changes, including asking for payment.

Again today I had a conversation with a business owner who invested a lot of money into her Wordpress website being created. Over time her business has changed, and so have marketing trends. She now needs to make changes to her website but her Website Developer has gone awol, and her other contact isn't interested in doing that type of work anymore.

I could hear the frustration in her voice, as she explained how she kept trying to navigate the complex system set up behind the scenes of her Wordpress website.

#CheckMate #Stuck #MarketingHeldUpForNoReason

All she wanted to do is keep her copy and personal brand looking fresh an up-to-date, upload videos to her website and be able to make simple changes. If she had a Wix website - this would be simple and easy for her to do.

In October this year I attended the DMSS (Digital Marketing Skill Share) Conference in Bali, Indonesia.

It was amazing and I connected with some really phenomenal people who are flying in the online business space. There were also times where it got super technical!... and this is where my belief was confirmed. As a service based business, it's important for you to understand the longevity of the technology or process you are investing in, and the risks involved when it comes to trialling, testing & maintaining the different types of software & marketing strategies.

When do you need a Wordpress website?

When you know that you have a product and service that people want and you've found the sweet spot. Basically, when your bookings are selling out and when you create online content - your audience is lapping it up.When you have the revenue to keep investing in a Wordpress website developer to maintain all of the required plug-ins, updates and formatting etc. (Also note developers aren't necessarily designers, as in good at marketing... ask lots of questions about their skillset before engaging). When you have the revenue to start investing properly in things such as an Assistant, Social Media Advertising, SEO, GoogleAds etc.

Before you are anywhere near this, honestly, seriously... for the love of mung beans and the next super moon!

...consider using a platform such as Wix.

It will allow you to make quick and simple changes as you and your business grows, it's cost effective AND you can make it look super slick!

This is the platform that I use to create my clients websites so they CAN get on with attracting clients to their work, and they CAN make changes quickly as they expand.

Start with a DIY platform first until you are so certain that you have hit the mark with your services and product, your ideal customer and messaging. Baby steps will save you money, frustration and tech headaches into the future.

Know what to invest your money in first.

Happy to have a conversation with you to understand more about how important this decision is for you and your business development.

Rant over... it just pains me to have these conversations with budding business owners time and time again... everything keeps changing and developing. Especially technology.

Oh, and one more thing - be SUPER careful of making decisions around a family member or friend creating your website for you... even more nightmares can occur! But that's for another blog post.

Till then, big love

Melanie xo

Creating your website yourself & stuck? A crazy SE Asian tropical island that I have never been to, in fact it’s my first ever trip to SE Asia… and my car still hasn’t sold.

That’s the money I was relying on to get me through the first couple of months (slight Eeik!). In amongst the chaos that my life seems to be in that moment, I shut my bedroom door and sit on my bed in silence.

Dripped in fear and panic, I know that I have one of two choices. The first one would be to curl up in the foetal position in the corner of my room, ball my eyes out and call out for my mum.

The second would be look up to the sky and have a conversation with the universe.

I did the second.

I looked up and I said with feeling (trust me there was feeling…), help me please! I really need someone to buy my car before tomorrow to get this next chapter of my life going. Can you please help me find the buyer for my car and get me on that plane to Bali.

…and then I left it.

Afterwards, I didn’t crumble in an emotional wreck. In fact being pushed up against the wall like that, all I could manage to do was surrender and trust. Letting go of any expectation what-so-ever and just trusting that it was all going to work out. It was the first time in my life, that I felt like I had handed the whole kit-and-caboodle over to someone else to take care of… because that load got waaay too heavy for me.

From that moment on, everything I still had to do was done with a calmness that I had not experienced for months.

What else was I going to do?

So I just kept going…

Lunch time the day before I’m due to leave (less than 24 hours before my flight), and my phone rings with a buyer. Easiest sale ever, and she came to pick up the car that evening.

My Dad picks me up the next morning to take me to the airport. I hand my Dad the cash as he drops me off, before he heads to the bank to make the deposit…

Thank. You. Universe.

Phew!... what a way to begin my new endeavour of becoming an Online Entrepreneur.

It was my first lesson of operating in the space of uncertainty… and little did I know that this was now to be the norm. In fact, it’s only in the last 9 months that I’ve realised that this IS the place I need to hang out in… even if it does feel similar to walking the plank over crocodile infested waters some days.

I suppose this is why so many

don’t make it to the other side.

Uncertainty = Growth

Certainty = Safety

Of course there are times in our lives when it’s good to play it safe, however as Entrepreneurs, playing it safe all the time will actually stunt your growth rather than bring great opportunities and success your way.

Now I’m not saying, pack your bags and buy a one way ticket to a foreign country that you’ve never been to before, with only a a few grand in your pocket… by no means do I suggest following my crazy ideas – you’ll know what yours are.

Allow yourself to be still, allow yourself to meditate and you’ll either hear the answers, or feel the nudge (and this will be your Business Brow Chakra talking).

If you are in business for yourself, get used to feeling uncomfortable. To be honest, it’s taken about 2 ½ years for me to feel ok with it. Notice I still said ok… lol! But I do know that I have to hang out here more often than not, if I’m to succeed with my vision.

Good luck and may the universe be with you!

Big love,

Melanie xo

As Entrepreneurs it's important to play in the realms of uncertainty... and even though that may feel scary or unpredictable... there are three areas that when developed properly will provide you with some certainty to make that 'flight or flight' mode of yours feel at ease. . Your first three chakras: . Business Base Chakras : Foundations Business Sacral Chakra: Brand Business Solar Plexus: Product . ... if you have clarity with these three, it will actually help you to start stepping out of your comfort zone and into the realms of uncertainty where true business growth happens.

Website & Branding with the Business Chakra System

An avid lover of fresh coconuts & globe trotting, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients, assists with websites & branding for DIY Entrepreneurs, & teaches the Business Chakra System via her online course Program Ignition & touring live workshops.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs Facebook Group community.

Her creativity will blow your mind, as she will help to propel your vision into reality and stand out from the crowd in the online space.

www.seedtosoul.com.au

Follow Melanie on Facebook& Instagram

The Marriage Proposal - From A Commitment Phobe

I stir awake from my sleep, my mind drifting from one random thought to another. Then suddenly I gasp!... my eyes are now wide open. I remember my dream. He asked me to marry him, and I said...

{the end is coming... just one a tick!]

I love dreaming. In fact when I was a teenager I couldn't wait to go to bed each night as I would often have very lucid, colourful and crazy dreams. I never knew what I was going to get and they would often fuel my creativity.

These days, I don't always dream so often, but I do know when I've had one that I need to take notice of ~ and this one brought up a range of questions I had around my connection with commitment.

Marriage.

Well, I have to say for the first time in my 38 years on earth, I think I am ready. No truly! About a month ago, I don’t know what happened but I woke up, looked in the mirror and announced – I’m ready for a husband.

I was once engaged at the ripe age of 19… we never made it to tying the knot, and in many ways I think it tainted my perception of love, relationships and marriage. (No one is to blame, and we are still friends… I just put it down to being young and not having a clue about what love and marriage was really all about.).

Marriage is a commitment. You are saying to that other Soul in front of you that you really connect with them, you want to support them and you have the intention to be with them for the rest of your life - that is pretty big, and it’s kind of sad that I used to find the thought of it so suffocating. I mean ~ what a beautiful thing...

Travel.

In some ways I wonder if my 'global gypsy' lifestyle has been a reflection or coping mechanism for my inability or desire to commit? (I reckon a few peeps I know might resonate with this..). I remember when I arrived back in Australia, now 25 years old, after doing my two years backpacking in Europe, and all of a sudden having to commit to rental agreements and mobile phone contracts... and a 'real' job. These commitments made me squirm... and I would think - but what if I want to leave again? I was so resentful of being made to feel tied down.

Wealth.

Ouu... this is a sore spot for me, I'll be honest. Only because I know the truth wins every time. My relationship with money has been a 'colourful' one that's for sure.

I think the tone was set some time during my backpacking days when the banks just wanted to keep giving me money. I'd receive letter, after letter, saying 'Hey Mel, we noticed that you're having a lot of fun and living vicariously through travel and eating 2 min noodles... so we thought we'd give you another $3K on your credit card just to help you out. Let's be friends!'.

Ha! Obviously, it didn't really go like that... but that was how the 20 something version of me read it. My relationship with money has been dysfunctional. Well not completely true, it's become much better over the years... we are getting there. Let's just say our commitment to one another is currently in therapy.

Health.

I wish I was thinner, more toned like those gorgeous women that I see online every day. I'm happy with who I am, but I do think these things occasionally. I wish I was so light and agile that I could do back flips across the room... she writes with a plate of tempe buffalo wings by her side. There are times when I have completely committed to working out and eating well... but it totally consumed me. And again - this commitment scares me. I want to look good, and I know that I can... but from past experiences it means strict rules and no fun food! Hmmmm.

Business.

What could require more commitment from you than running your own business? I LOVE my business to pieces. I love my Business Chakra System online course that I've created, I love helping my clients bring their personality into their business & attracting clients, I love content creating... but no one tells you how hard it is when you are a people pleaser.

It still catches me out even today, when I put my client's businesses before my own. there really is a fine juggling act around committing to turning up for your own business every single day, as much as you turn up for your clients.

So many perspectives when it comes to commitment.

So back to the dream...

I'm walking along and I turn the corner. There in front of me is a man who loves and adores me. He has ticked all the boxes an paper and is standing high up on a podium, people are all around, and just like a surprise party he shouts out with everyone in unison: 'Will You Marry Me?!" Confetti is flying, everyone is ready to party, and all of a sudden I feel really awkward.

In the mayhem of it all, there is this other guy at my side that I feel a real heart connection with.

...so I say no to the marriage proposal.

What does it all mean?!

Am I not ready to commit? or am I ready to commit?... maybe I'm scared to commit? or selective with what I to commit to?

Please feel free to share with me your interpretations - I'd love to hear them!

I personally don't feel it has anything to do with marriage at all... but rather my relationship with commitment. I've learned recently to stick with being true to myself and really committing to all of the areas of my life (see above) that my heart feels connected to... not just pulling 'wants' out of the sky.

What do you really want?

And are you committed to making it happen?

Sounds simple, but so easily we either drift off, get pulled off or even 'lured' off track.

It's ok to say no ~ just remember that... particularly in your business. And this links directly to the Business Sacral Chakra of your business.

A solid commitment is required from you to make sure your business is doing as well as those you are serving. It needs your daily attention, to hear your vows and know you'll show up for it every day no matter what.

There is no separation between you and your business... turning up for it means you are turning up for yourself.

Big love,

Melanie xo

An avid lover of fresh coconuts & globe trotting, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients, assists with websites & branding for DIY Entrepreneurs, & teaches the Business Chakra System via her online course Program Ignition & touring live workshops.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs Facebook Group community.

Her creativity will blow your mind, as she will help to propel your vision into reality and stand out from the crowd in the online space.

www.seedtosoul.com.au

Follow Melanie on Facebook & Instagram

Bali's Day of Complete Silence: Nyepi

When was the last time you sat quietly in contemplation for 24 hours? Even the airport (which usually has over 300 planes landing every day) is closed, and tourists must stay within the confides of their accommodation.

All of this happens in the name of self-reflection.

How beautiful is that?

It's called Nyepi and this year the quiet officially starts from 6am on Tuesday 28 March.

Some choose to leave the island to avoid this time, but I've never quite understood why. A day of silence for me feels like total bliss, and I look forward to it, and embraced it. In fact, I think the whole planet should have one day of silence together... huh, can you imagine if that really happened? A day of silence is SO good for the Soul!

Now granted, you can actually eat if you choose to (you just have to be prepared), & of course the internet is abound ~ so of course there are still distractions from 'doing nothing'... however the no traffic and no lights rules are enforced by the local communities & police ~ and I'm glad they do.

The streets have never been so quiet

& the stars have never looked so bright.

A breath of fresh air for Mother Nature.

Funnily enough, the night before Nyepi, would have to be one of the noisiest of the year!

In the early 80's a new tradition was introduced call the 'Ogoh-Ogoh'. Locals create massive ugly demon like statues (some look quite terrifying, yet they are such beautiful pieces of art work), and parade them through the streets once the sun goes down until around midnight.

The parade is a spectacular event, and if you're ever in Bali I highly recommend following the locals that crowd the streets to watch these ugly yet beautiful Ogoh-Ogoh's. Each one is carried on the shoulders by pools of men, who spin the Ogoh-Ogoh three times at every T-section to 'bewilder' the evil sprits. That way they will leave the island and people alone.

Locals will also do a ritual in their own homes of banging sticks and burning incense to wake up any 'evil spirits' before the parade, to help scare them off. I've been told that the day of silence is also to trick the evil spirits into thinking that no one is on the island, and so off they go somewhere else...

Up to you to decide what you would like to believe. But I'm happy to run with it!

Culture, ritual, celebration... it's so nice to experience the world through the eyes of others. We can learn so much.

Big love,

Melanie xo

Sat 1 - Sun 2 April 2017

Join me & 19 other Entrepreneurial & Nomadic Speakers

for the first ever online Freedom Summit.

Listen & learn from the experts who are living a life with travel.

An avid lover of fresh coconuts & globe trotting, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients, assists with websites & branding for DIY Entrepreneurs, & teaches the Business Chakra System via her online course Program Ignition & touringlive workshops.

Part 2: Behind The Scenes of a Workshop Tour

You know that feeling when your idea looks amazing on paper? Then out of left-field appears a problem you forgot to consider...

Lesson #2 ~ Learning the art of being agile

If there is one Entrepreneurial muscle to strengthen, consider your ability to be agile. What do I mean by that?

Well, picture a cat or dog in your mind and focus on their legs. Did you know that most four legged animals are actually always walking on their toes? and their 'heel' is the first bony bit you see up their leg. This is why cats and dogs are such agile animals, and can quickly and easily change direction when required.

Us humans on the other hand, tend to use our 'heels' for walking and what this means is that our ability to be agile can be stunted on a physical level ~ and this can also translate to how our mind works too.

What do you think of when I say 'heel digger'? I think of someone who digs their heels into the ground and is stubborn! They have an idea of how something must work, so much so that they are not interested in watching what's going on around them. Unfortunately this behaviour is a sure fire way to miss opportunities that make business and life easier.

When it doesn't work out, there
will be something that does.

On my Business Chakra Workshop Australia Tour, I thought to include an additional VIP Business Planning day while I was in each city. My idea was to have 4 people attend for the VIP day so we get to the nitty-gritty of defining their visions, reverse engineering how their products & services fit into that vision, and then look at promotion strategies specific to them.

Well, to my delight these VIP tickets were the first to sell - one from each city!

But then it went silent...

I was disappointed that more VIP tickets didn't sell, but when it came time for the session, it became very clear to me that these sessions were much better suited to working one:one than within a group.

And in fact, from this experience this has now become a new offering in my own suite of products and services ~ a 3 day face:face business planning intensive.

It was such a joy to be able to work with these women one:one, particularly the ones that needed help with their initial branding and design set up. They would watch me create banners and social media posts that would normally take them hours in about 20mins. They instantly felt a new energy toward their business and we had the changes implemented as we went.

There is
no better feeling for a Business Mentor
than to see the look of enthusiasm on a client's face as all of a sudden their confidence and message clarity has reached a new level in such a short amount of time.

There is always a silver lining,

especially when you are agile.

Have your visions and your goals, but be open to how they play out. As disappointments can actually turn into new beginnings, as well as bring you back on track with where you need to be.

Big love,

Melanie xo

Missed Part 1 of Behind the Scenes of a Workshop Tour?click here

An avid lover of fresh coconuts & globe trotting, you will often findMelanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients and runs Entrepreneur Artistry Program Ignition, for upcoming entrepreneurs to step into their power as Change Makers & Thought Leaders.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs community.

Her creativity will blow your mind, as she will help to propel your vision into reality and stand out from the crowd in the online space. I remember when the idea entered my mind to run a live workshop tour, it was visceral and the message was super clear… I knew it was time. I had tried to do live workshops twice before, and both times they were fizzers… in fact the second time it didn’t even happen. The one thing they had in common: they both come from a place of urgency and fear to make money(unbalanced Base Chakra). The worst place you can make your business decisions from.

Uncertainty Fuels Growth

My life and business had now become fairly comfortable. I knew the drill, what to do, where to go & how to do it. It’s nice when you get to that place ~ but it’s also unhealthy to stay there for too long.

Confession:
Two weeks before jumping on the plane to Australia, my nerves got the better of me and I almost pulled the plug (stretched Solar Plexus).

I found myself at crossroads where if I wanted to, I could have chosen to bail out and cancel the whole thing. It was a serious consideration because it would mean that life would become much more comfortable again.

In true typical Libran style though, I looked at the situation from all angles.

If I cancelled my tour, the nerves, anxiety and overwhelm would disappear and I could continue to live my comfortable and simple life in Bali.

But did I really want that?...

Did I want to stay in the comfortable bubble I had created for myself?

No. No, I didn’t.

I mean there is nothing wrong with the life I had created, in fact I love it. But I knew deep down I yearned for more…

I want to travel the world with my work, I want to meet a man to marry that enjoys the same lifestyle, I want to meet and work with people face to face, I want my business to expand… andif I was to stay where I was, hidden in the rice fields of Bali, well, all of that just would not happen.

I knew that if I pulled that plug on my tour that the only thing I would be doing was a disservice to myself, my business, and most of all my tribe.

It was time to take a deep breath embrace the leap of faith and know that the universe had my back… why else would I get the nudge?

While in Melbourne last weekend,
I told this story to my Business Chakra Workshop
people, and they responded with – “Well I’m glad you didn’t pull the pin because we’d be very upset!”.

In our moments of self-doubt we are

dwelling in a place of self-absorption.

If you are in the business of helping others, your business isn’t about you… it’s about the lives of those you are helping. To stunt your growth, you are in reality, stunting the growth of others.

So while I write this, literally on the plane from Melbourne to Brisbane to complete the second leg of my first Australia tour, even though every day I feel the slight uneasiness of being out of my comfort zone… right now I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When it’s time, it’s time.

Big love, Melanie xo

An avid lover of fresh coconuts & globe trotting, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients and runsEntrepreneur Artistry Program Ignition, for upcoming entrepreneurs to step into their power as Change Makers & Thought Leaders.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs community.

Her creativity will blow your mind, as she will help to propel your vision into reality and stand out from the crowd in the online space. Catch her LIVE on her Australian Business Chakra Workshop Tour in February 2017 - Click to purchase your Ticket. If you are drawn to, or curious about The Business Chakra system... follow that nudge - as it's not as 'airy-fairy' as one may think.

In fact it's quite grounded.

I've had some very successful business mentors tell me that it's one of the most comprehensive business education programs they have seen. Igniting your Business Chakras will help you to enhance your connection with your work on a much deeper level. There is a time and place to learn strategy & tactics, and there most definitely is a time where you need to put that to the side and understand you.

The 3 Pillars that I work with, together with every Business Chakra Energy is this:

1) Energy

2) Mindset

3) Framework

If you can allow yourself the time to work consistently within these three areas for each of the chakra aspects of yourself & your business... you will experience a flow state.

So let's break it down:1) Energy

How are you feeling right now? If you were to stop what you are doing, take a deep breath and quiet your mind - what is the emotion you are feeling inside? Now take your mind to your business... how does it make you feel right now? How you feel emotionally about your business most definitely has an impact on your mindset, which in turn has an impact on it's flow and success. Here is a break down of emotions that link to the different chakras to help guide you with what you may need to focus on to help you feel more light and bright about your business:
Fear, Anxiety, Overwhelm - Business Base Chakra

Desire, Frustration, Expectation - Business Sacral Chakra

Judgement, Self-Worth, Doubt - Business Solar Plexus

Rejection, Sadness, Vulnerability - Business Heart Chakra

Shame, Confusion, Anxiety - Business Throat Chakra

Remembering that it's not what is happening outside of you that is making you feel a certain way, it's what's happening within you.

2) Mindset

Within the Business Chakras, mindset is all about perception. What you perceive will be. It is not always possible to have your mindset coach on-call to take you through a process or session.

It's so important to train yourself be able to look at situations from a different point of view, because this tool will totally come in handy plenty of times as your business begins to expand:
Lack Of Cashflow - Business Base Chakra

Seeing Others Succeed - Business Sacral Chakra

Pricing Your Services - Business Solar Plexus
(*I'm running free training on this!)

Unhappy Clients - Business Heart Chakra

No One Is Signing Up - Business Throat Chakra

Who Am I To Be A Leader? - Business Brow Chakra

What If This Big Vision Doesn't Work? - Business Crown Chakra

All of these doubts and fears are our own perception. Learning to enable yourself to turn them on their head will be one of your most prized gifts as an entrepreneur.

3) Framework

Now here is the part that, for some of you, will put your logical and strategic mind at ease. Yes there absolutely is structure for you to implement in your business... even as an energetic representation of yourself!

Foundations - Business Base Chakra

Branding - Business Sacral Chakra

Products/Service - Business Solar Plexus

Promotion - Heart Chakra

Communication - Throat Chakra

Leadership - Brow Chakra

Vision - Crown Chakra

***QUICK ACTIVITY*** Depending on the emotion you are feeling, or the scenario that is currently playing out in your mind... with the Business Chakra System you can navigate your way to find the area of your business that you need to focus on first to change your emotional and/or mental state, and instead feel flow and success.

1) Choose any of the above elements in pink. For example, if lack of cashflow really speaks to you in the mindset pillar right now, start there. Or if you are feeling nothing other than frustration, start with the energy pillar..2) Note which chakra it is linked to.

3) See what the other two elements related to that Chakra are about.

It can provide you with a quick insight into the area you need to focus on in your business to know what is the next right step for you.

We go into much more detail for each of the Chakras in my online course: Program Ignition & in my face:face Business Chakra Workshops.

We all know that clarity is king. That when we can see a pathway and know where to focus our energy and time, life becomes easier and more fun! As an entrepreneur, particularly in the first 3 years of business, it's messy and confusing. It's during these times where your once focused and inspired action can be thrown in the back seat while overwhelming emotions and old belief systems take over.

Remember - there is no need for you to do this on your own... and there is a holistic and gentle way to find the answer.

Big love,

Melanie xo

THE BUSINESS CHAKRA SYSTEM

ONLINE SELF-LEARNING

BUSINESS REVIEW COURSE

USD$197

...click for more info

BUSINESS CHAKRA WORKSHOPS

AUSTRALIA 2017 FEB TOUR · Melbourne · Brisbane · Sydney

Tickets from AUD$495...click for more info

WHAT BUSINESS CHAKRA WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS SAY:

An avid lover of fresh coconuts & globe trotting, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Catch her LIVE on her Australian Business Chakra Workshop Tour in February 2017 - Click to purchase your Ticket. LIVE workshops in: Melbourne, Brisbane & Sydney.

www.seedtosoul.com.au

Follow Melanie on Facebook & Instagram

2017: Your Year for Increased Personal Responsibility & Business Success

2017 is the year of personal responsibility in my eyes. It's the year where feeling ashamed, like a failure or like life is continuing to provide you with nothing but hard-knocks... really... no longer has a place. Rather those feelings need to be replaced with a sense of kindness, forgiveness and a mature understanding that these situations have happened for a reason.

No longer do the stories of trial and tribulation, or playing small need to be the centre or your world, because in actual fact, it's these stories that are the exact reason why you may be feeling that you never seem to make progress.

The universe is a funny thing.

Learning to laugh at it will be one of your strongest weapons of choice in 2017.

The more you empower yourself through becoming clear on your vision and goals, and then of course going for it... I can guarantee, you WILL come up against a variety of hurdles.

Why is this?

Because if you want to succeed

it means you have to change your mindset & start reacting differently to situations.

If your mindset was already wired for wild success you'd already be feeling it, right?

And just to clarify, I'm no pro at this - I come up against my own hurdles... however, I no longer call them blocks. Because to me, a block means something you can't get through - where as a hurdle... well... it's possible to jump over a hurdle... actually it's possible to even crawl under one or, even go around it! (*An extra tip here - life doesn't have to be hard and you make your own rules, wink wink...!)

Focus On You &

Not What Others Say

I love the below clip for two reasons.1) Michelle Jenneke is totally owning her vibe and energy, she knows how to get in her zone and own her space. Hello feminine power!

2) If you listen to the cometary - they are actually questioning her ability to win because of the way she is preparing for her race! What does it matter?! A very clear example of how when you step up, take personal responsibility and do it your way - people will question you. Get used to shaking those bad vibes off.

Make 2017 the year you decide to take a different perspective of the cards that life is dealing you, because until you do, you're just going to keep yourself small and creating the same outcomes time and time again. Changing your perspective works, and it's what I teach in theBusiness Chakra System. There is no separation between you and your business... how you feel on the inside affects how you perform on the outside. Even if you have the confidence to be seen, but you're still feeling shaky inside...

Imagine what you could bring

to the world with a strong core,

courage & strength?!

Open yourself up... now is the time. The end of 2016 has seen all manner of shake-ups all around the world.

Use the holiday season to re-align, time to mind your own business and to take responsibility of what you CAN control: your emotions and your mind.

Get that right and watch your world transform.

Big love,

Melanie xo

EARLY BIRD CLOSES 31 DECEMBER 2016

An avid lover of fresh coconuts & globe trotting, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Catch her LIVE on her Australian Business Chakra Workshop Tour in February 2017 - 50% off Early Bird Tickets now available in Melbourne, Brisbane & Sydney.

www.seedtosoul.com.au

Follow Melanie on Facebook & Instagram

Business Chakras - Why They Are Important For Your Success

In a world where coaches and business mentors are promising to help you make a profit or show you the exact way to roll out a launch, sell your book, attract new clients or fill your programs. What I believe they can do for you is show you what they've done, and the success they have experienced when:

The communication was rightThe timing & circumstance was completely divineThey had made plenty of their own f*ups along the way

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with this - because remember we are all learning and wanting to help each other. The above is basically the formula to find the sweet spot of success for your business. It is also why even the most calculated strategy can still have a mediocre result, because at the end of the day, the energy and clarity behind the campaign is what matters.

How many times have you heard the stories of people investing thousands of dollars into coaching (me included), and not experiencing the results they were after. It's not because the coach was no good (however,
please please, pleeeaaassse do your homework and ask questions before investing -

*A handy tip... A good business coach will ask you about your Business Chakra Foundations before you begin: who is your ideal customer?, what are your products & services?, what are your goals? and how do you plan to make it happen? etc. to understand how they can help you. If they don't - move right along.
)

The reasons the results didn't happen may be because you actually weren't ready...

There is no separation between you and your business, and this is why the
Business Chakra System
will help you to find the gaps and work on priming your personal energy, as well as your business energy.

You see, if you are

Lacking in personal confidence Not clear on what your products and services areLacking in motivation and finding momentumFeeling like you're putting on a 'persona' for your business (not intentionally, but it's happening)Finding it difficult to communicate in either written format or verballyFeel all 'salesy' when you want to share with others Finding it difficult to not sound so factual & corporate with your business communication

... we've got work to do!

A successful entrepreneur will be feeling this way about themselves:

Have a strong value around money and feel supported - both within themselves and by their community. (Ignited Base Chakra)

Be absolutely ok to express themselves in a way that suits them and they have fun doing it. (Ignited Sacral Chakra)

Feel confident with their work - of course some nerves will kick in every now and then, however ultimately they know they are on path and that they
are working within their zone of genius.
What others are doing doesn't come into the mix, and they love to push the boundaries of what's possible. (Ignited Solar Plexus)

They understand how to sell themselves, talk about what they do and feel good while they are doing it. (Ignited Heart Chakra)

There have connected to a much bigger why behind their business, rather than it being about just about them. (Ignited Throat Chakra)

When they make business decisions they learn from others and then listen to themselves for the right answer. (Ignited Brow Chakra)

Forecasting, budgeting & planning for the future does matter in their world, especially for progress towards their vision to be made. (Ignited Crown Chakra)

Strategies will come and go, however:

Your ability to stay connected within & feel empowered is the

#1 strategy that WILL remain the same.

So while everyone is telling you what to do and how to do it, make sure you take time out regularly to do the inner work that's required to stay connected.

You may be noticing that business has never actually been about just 'selling a product'. Rather, it's been about connecting to the emotions of your audience and sharing with them how you understand them first and foremost, and then how you can help them.

The deeper you can connect to your personal chakra energies, the deeper and more powerful you will be able to connect with your tribe on an emotional level, and you'll be able to really ignite your business chakra system.Start to explore, there is always more to learn and a new unfolding to occur for you - no matter where you are on the business success ladder.

Enjoy the journey! I love his style and the way he teaches. His audience is a few steps ahead of the game of me right now, but I love thinking ahead and planting the seeds about what I need to learn to up-level my business. Jack D's guest for this particular video was Matt Barrie. Wow! Matt is super cool (& between you and me - I think I have a man-crush). He is an award winning technology entrepreneur, lecturer & CEO ofwww.freelancer.com. For those who are not aware, Freelancer is a hugely successful international platform for entrepreneurs to post jobs they need to outsource and then freelancers bid for the job.

So how pumped was I to hear Jack D say:

"...The future of education will be more slanted towards a holistic approach that involves the human being as well as the skills."

And then Matt Barrie, replies with:

"Open my Chakras..."

I kid you not, mark my words and hear it for yourself! The whole interview is awesome, but to catch this gem - fast forward to 29:33mins.

I was watching this video quite late from my Villa in Ubud, Bali and I'm sure my neighbours heard me cry out in the still of the night... Hallelujah!

Yep! Finally, what once seemed taboo is now slowly making it's way into mainstream as part of learning, entrepreneurial education and personal development. Awesome! Awesome! I had decided that it was time to ignite some lurve back into my life after a long time of dedicating my time and energy solely (soul-ly hehe..) to my business.

One morning I got a match on my dating app. We had a quick text chat, he seemed nice enough, tall (important), and easy as pie we set a lunch date. Lovely! In my mind I thought... hmm, this is a great start.

He turns up - I actually can't remember

his name... So, for the purposes of this

story let's call him Matthew.

Matthew sat down in the peacock cane chair across from me, and straight away we dove into the quite normal traveller conversation of where are you from, where have you been and where are you going next, set of questions. Matthew was from the States and had been working in Law when he realised he hated the system and decided to sell everything and go travelling to find his true calling. His family didn't really understand what he was doing and he didn't really care. What he was being drawn to was yoga teacher training, learning about himself & spirituality. And even more than that he was looking forward to sharing his new found knowledge with others.

Nice :) Ahh... It felt good to sit across from someone who seemed to align to my way of living and thinking. Then of course he asks: 'So how about you? What are you doing?" "Well... " I say, and continue you tell him the story of how I also became fed up with the corporate world, trained as a Massage Therapist and Psychosomatic Therapist... and this has since evolved into me becoming a Business Mentor and I combine this with personal development. "... I've now created a program called The Business Chakra System."

It's at this moment I feel a pang in my Solar Plexus, as he gives me a really strange look.
"Oh... I see. You're making money out of spirituality."

Let me back track a little bit here. Leading up to this point I never really told new people that I met what I did, because I thought they would laugh or not take me seriously. Now I had a person in front of me who I thought would understand what I was doing, questioning my motives?

... Eeeik moment indeed!

Needless to say, that lunch was a pretty quick one. We continued to chat but he was triggering me and I was triggering him in the realms of business and spirituality. I went back to my villa and I started questioning myself.

Was what I'd created valid and in alignment with the energy of spirituality?

Are all the gods, goddesses, deities and spirit beings spinning around in a frenzy as they watch me bastardise their teachings?

Far out... this was a show stopper if I'd ever felt one.

I sat for a long time in the uncomfortable feeling in my Solar Plexus (personal identity aka product & services) being challenged, and my Sacral Chakra (freedom of expression aka branding) being shut down.

Then I decided: Nope. I didn't care.

That guy had absolutely no idea about what I had created and the number of business owners, particularly in his industry, that I had helped for them to find clarity and to identify successful businesses frameworks from these teachings.

It was in this moment, I chose to stand my ground and not let this conversation waiver my belief in how important my work was. In fact, it was people exactly like Matthew that I would love to help the most - for them to see that yes, spirituality needs to be explored and understood for you to connect to your purpose. And that the best way for you to help, heal and teach others is actually when you can fully support yourself with your work...this is what the Business Chakra System teaches!

So, I thank Matthew.

I thank him for briefly coming into my life and questioning my creation, because it has solidified within me that this is part of my true path. It also reflected back to me how much more grounded I had become as business owner over the past four years.

For my first two years in business it felt like a continual scraping of the bottom of the money barrel, and I know that spirit never wants that for anyone. Spirit actually wants you to thrive, to be yourself and be rewarded for your time, energy, & creativity.

I always say there is no separation between you and your business. Using their words, their music and their presence to the masses to share their message - creating movements. One way of looking at it is that these 'rockstar rebels' were actually paving the way for our generation of Entrepreneurs. Their challenge to the status quo has provided an opening for us to feel empowered and have courage to be creative, continue to question authority and be advocates for positive change.

Do you remember this?...

In your former life as a corporate bunny, you sat at your desk, becoming frustrated time and time again with the system that you had to work with... which, more than likely included dealing with red tape, bureaucracy, or ineffective management. The constrictions you had to work with suppressing your true and natural abilities, and disabling you to focus on what you are good at. The original positive outcome that you were trying to achieve of actually helping people, your community or what ever cause, became horribly fuzzy and made you question what was the point of it all?

Enter from side stage: Your Inner Rebel. In fact, this experience made you question what you were being paid for so much, that you began to wonder:

"If I could spend this much time & energy on my own business, imagine what I could achieve & create...?"

So you did it:

You told them all to bugger off, and stepped out to do your own thing. Maybe your exit was dramatic, or perhaps it was a little nerve wracking... however, no one could touch your enthusiasm that was peaking at 150% and your determination which was even higher. You had never run your own business before, however after your experience of working for someone else, you have a fairly good idea of what's involved - AND you were pretty sure you could do it much better.

Then Your Inner Rebel Is Met With The Realities Of Running A Business

God damn it!...

Your enthusiasm and determination is truly being tested 6-12 months in. What you knew was never going to be a walk in a park, has certainly turned out to be harder than you expected.

There IS so much to think about.

Some days you wonder if you are cut out for this work, to be a leader of change and to create a lifestyle and business for yourself that you are totally in alignment and happy with. But the alternative of going back to that corporate jungle with your tail between your legs is seriously not an option.

3 Ways To Tame Your Inner Rebel

& Ask For Help

1) Realise that successful Leader's ask for help. Here is your first reality: no successful entrepreneur has ever succeeded from doing it all on their own. Coaches need coaches, healers need healers, teachers need teachers. For many it's easier to help someone else than it is to help themselves. Seek help if you are feeling stuck. Do not be too proud to ask for a hand to take you through to the next step.

2) Know what you are good at & stick to it. To be able to ask the right person to help you , you need to have clarity and be able to articulate what your strengths and weaknesses are. Just because you feel stuck, doesn't mean you aren't good at any of it. Analyse what you feel the gap of knowledge is, and find someone to help you fill that gap. Get specific.

3) Always congratulate yourself for how far you've come. Always know that you are one courageous being. It may feel like you're failing, and that everyone is wanting to be a coach and are creating their own businesses. However, there are billions, if not trillions, of people in the world who simply cannot be bothered to get off the couch and change the things they see wrong with the world. You are not one of those people... remember that!

To finish up, do this one thing... get up, find a mirror and stand in front of it. Take three deep breaths and feel yourself expand, feel strong and look yourself in the eye and say:

"I am courageous, confident & successful & it's perfectly ok to ask for help".

I believe in you.

Big love,

Melanie xo

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients and runs courses and workshops for upcoming entrepreneurs to step into their power as Change Makers & Thought Leaders.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs which is a community that focuses on humanity in business.

Her creativity will blow your mind, as she will help to propel your vision into reality and stand out from the crowd in the online space.

www.seedtosoul.com.au

Follow Melanie on Facebook & Instagram

Sex Sells: How To Do It With Your Clothes On

Is it getting hot in here?! I think so.

Confession: I did watch Franco's video... a few times... research purposes. I swear.

But you're a Coach or Healer right...

& you want to keep it clean.

Franco's video is classic example of how sex can really sell, especially when it's done in a clever and sophisticated way. However, for you as a service based business, I'm willing to bet that you aren't really keen to create videos half naked and in your nickers.

So here is THE #1 way to make your

business branding & marketing sexy.

Make it FEEL GOOD!

The reason why sex sells is because, sex feels amazingly yummy and stimulating in so many ways and who doesn't want to feel that?! The mastery of marketing is being able to make people feel emotion - that is what will capture people's attention, keep them coming back for more and ultimately seeking you out when they are ready to buy (and in some cases have them buying when they didn't even know they wanted it in the first place). It's actually got nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with how your branding & marketing makes someone feel.

1) Starting Point: When you look at your branding and your social media marketing... how does it make YOU feel?

If you look at your branding, and it looks nice, but it doesn't emulate some kind of warm and fuzzy feeling inside for you... then it's still a work in progress. Where you want your brand to get to, is a place of when you look at it you are madly in love with your creation so much that, it IS an extension of you, rather than a separate entity.I alway ask my clients who struggle with this: picture the room you would love to invite your clients in to. What does it look like? How is it decorated? How do you want to feel? How do you want them to feel? These questions are a great play ground to begin creating your own personalised and connective branding concept or marketing campaign.
2) Next Bit: How to reconnect with your brand

This is the fun part. I teach the Business Chakra System, and it's your Sacral Chakra that is connected to your branding. Why? Because it's your sacral chakra energy within you that holds your creativity, sensuality and ability to express yourself freely. It's where we feel. This energy centre is located around your hip area and includes your reproductive organs. Feeling tight, wound up and not able to tap into that creative essence of yours?

Then loosen up!

Move your hips, listen to music that makes you feel good, allow yourself to dip into a space of feeling deep and pure pleasure. The ideas may not come straight away, but I can promise you, that if you allow yourself to hang out in this feeling for a while... consistently, you'll begin to receive messages and insights of how you want your business branding & marketing to look and feel.

Some meditate on it. I say feel it.

3) Then what?:Create brand clarity for yourself

A process that I do, and that I take my own clients through, is to have them collect images they love. It's the imagery that is a HUGE tantalizer for emotional connection. Remember Franco's video, he wasn't even speaking english! It was the visual of the video, both of him (eh-herm) - but also the food, that emulates that yummy feeling.

What imagery & colours turn you on? What evokes excitement in you?

Yes, you can get technical & psychological with branding in terms of colour wheels etc. However, I believe your love for your branding, especially in the first instance, will go so much further than scientific explanations about colour - because there is no separation between you and your business. When you love something (anything!), the energy of that will be super high, and it will attract others who love it too.

Your Vibe

Attracts Your Tribe.

I once had someone say to me that I should really remove the black background from my presentations and branding... it was too dark they said. I took on their comments - thought about it, and kept it. I LOVE my branding. For me it does feel sexy, it does feel exciting and inspiring. When I look at it I do feel emotion and it actually motivates me to do more.

Do What You Love

& Stick To It.

We all have different tastes and this is the power and brilliance of what makes us unique. If you get out online and look like everyone else... or try to be someone else's sexy - it's just not going to work... because we all know it's not you.

Be you and enjoy the journey of unleashing your personal Entrepreneur Artistry.

Big love,

Melanie xo

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melaniementors private clients and runs Entrepreneur Artistry Program Ignition, for upcoming entrepreneurs to step into their power as Change Makers & Thought Leaders.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs community.

Her creativity will blow your mind, as she will help to propel your vision into reality and stand out from the crowd in the online space.

www.seedtosoul.com.au

Follow Melanie onFacebook & Instagram

Stop Plucking Numbers Out Of The Sky

You have a dream... I can see it in your eyes. Maybe the seed was planted when you were sitting at your corporate world desk one day staring out the window, feeling complexed to see exactly how monthly reporting was contributing to society in a positive way. Or perhaps it was while you were sitting on that crammed bus, and the person who was unlucky enough to miss out on a seat's handbag keeps banging you on the head... you sighed, and again looked out the window... "there has got to be more to life than this."

Then one morning you decided to tell them

all to stick it, & you did...

Congratulations!

You took back control of your life. You followed your heart, took a leap of faith, did your training and decided to start your own business to help others live a happier life.

Woohoo!! You're doing it!

And now... well, now... you're kinda stuck. 6 months in and this Entrepreneurial gig looks a bit different in reality. Instead of focusing on your work you are caught up in cashflow issues and the savings pot is looking a little dry.

You've heard the stories... but you didn't actually think it would be that hard to get your business off the ground - don't people realise the positive work you are doing here?!?!

As you sit in your overwhelm and watch another video from those making their millions,

they all say the same thing:

Your Vision & Your Why... needs to
be bigger than you.

Bigger than me? Ok... I can do that. So on top of doing my coaching or healing work I also need to think about how I'm going to help the world's problems. Of course.... why wouldn't I do that. Of course I can do that...

So in true determined Entrepreneurial style, you kick your cashflow concerns to the curb, andafter months of barely scraping in $3k you start walking around your home repeating those affirmations out loudand then declare to the universe: This month I will make... oh hell, why not... let's make it $10K!

You get to work. Your determination and drive is amazing, nothing is going to stop you even if it means you have to do 16 hours days... you will do this! But in your effort you flunk. Once again you have been greeted with another goal not being met and your cashflow issues are still there.

Here is a bit of Mel wisdom for you... your big, big vision will take time.

Tips for successful short-term goal making

1) Know why you are setting the money goals you are setting.

There is no reason why you couldn't go from $3K to $10K in one month... but you need to know why you are wanting to make that money.

Take the time to really understand your personal budget, what you want your life to look like, exactly what you want to happen in the next 12 months and from that place create your target. (ps. and you gotta feel it - if it feels like a dream it's not the right goal. If it feels real you're on track).

2) Time actually does equal money.

Look at your products and services and know what your capacity is to help people one:one. Filling your days back to back with appointments will result in burn out (especially if you are still wearing all business hats such as marketer, accountant and content creator).

Yes money could come to you in other ways... but wouldn't it feel so much better to know what products and services you have that could actually make that target real, and you're able to deliver in a healthy way? If you don't have enough time to actually service what's required to reach your vision and/or goal... time for some tweaking.

3) Take baby steps and set a reasonable vision for yourself.

You may have the dream of solving the world's problems of homelessness, saving animals or creating schools for children... however the reality is, initially you need to be first and foremost able to support yourself.

When you can support yourself with your work - trust me, you will have so much more energy and vitality to do more. So your vision initially may be: to understand how I can provide the most outstanding service ever to those I serve right now.

Can you feel how being mindful of your vision can actually can bring everything back to a doable bite sized lovely piece, to then take things to the next level? Your vision can and will change - it's ok to start small.

Trust me, through my own experience and mentoring so many others... when you focus on who is in front of you first, and you provide excellent service - your big big vision will eventually fall into place and you'll be able to feel that it's real.

Love who you are, love what you do and keep it simple.

Big love,Melanie xo

Well known for helping Entrepreneurs around the world with creating their vision, and an avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients and runs Entrepreneur Artistry Program Ignition, for upcoming entrepreneurs to step into their power as Change Makers & Thought Leaders.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs community.

Her creativity will blow your mind, as she assists to propel your vision into reality and stand out from the crowd in the online space.

www.seedtosoul.com.au

Follow Melanie on Facebook & Instagram

What Life Coaches Need To Stop Saying

A sincere and honest love letter from me to you...It's not that you aren't doing a great job at helping your clients to achieve their goals. Your work is totally needed in this world, and the way the 'Life Coaching' industry is growing is a great reflection of how society is slowly opening itself up to a new way of operating. Brilliant!

It's got absolutely nothing to do with that... rather, everything to do with how you are communicating.

Please, please, please! Start to learn about marketing and communication and take it as seriously as you take your coaching... and what ever you do, don't say:

I help women/men to find their
passion and live a

life they love

Sigh...

Now before I get on my high-horse about what really needs to change - I have to confess... I have walked the path of a 'Life Coach' in my early entrepreneur years, and I did use those exact words (cringe!). In fact in the past I've also honoured myself with titles such as:

Lifestyle Therapist; &Creative Inspirator (which isn't even a word by the way)

The only thing this language and these titles achieved were to confuse the bejesus out of anyone who asked me what I did... including myself sometimes.

Communication Tip #1: Creativity is awesome... when used at the right time.

You see, if you are budding into the world of Life Coaching, or any healing modality for that matter. I can guarantee you the number #1 thing they didn't teach you in your training is how to communicate well to attract clients to your work. They may have provided you with business models and 'sales' techniques... but did they teach you to communicate online like a human to other human beings?

Communication Tip #2:Marketing styles you have been exposed to over your lifetime and have learned sub-consciously while watching television, listening to the radio, passing billboards and even going to the movies... actually don't work anymore. Unlearn it quick!

Human beings are a pretty intelligent

lot, so respect the audience

you are speaking to.

Generally most of those who are engaging with social media and the internet have learned to be able to see through shallow words... and not only that, if the words are wishy-washy and flying high in a world of passion and loving life... well... to be honest... next please.

What your audience is looking for, on a number of levels, is connection.

Communication Tip #3: Connection is not created by talking about how great you are, or barking out your latest technique down a Facebook LIVE. Connection is created by your audience understanding that you get them, and you opening a door for them to get to know you.

Which brings me to my last point - if you don't know who you are talking to, then you will not be connecting with anyone. You'll feel crap because you'll not be attracting any clients, and start questioning what you are doing and asking 'Am I really cut out for this work anyway...?"

The self-doubt and sabotage spiral begins!... BUT it's not true! The answer lies in your communication.

Here is the gold of this blog:

Basically see this blog post here... it's specifically speaking to Life Coaches because guess what... they are an audience I love to talk to, work with and assist. How have I connected with you here?...

I've talked about people you probably knowShared how I've been on a similar journey and been confused by what to sayI've shared I know you use social media to attract people to your workI've used an image of myself so you can put a face to my words and perhaps some of you may even be imagining me say these words to you, rather than just reading it... particularly if you love my work and follow me.

I haven't asked you a question or made a title like 'Are you struggling to attract new clients to your work? and listed the solution... No, why? Because that would be BORING!! and you wouldn't have taken notice of my post. Plus, because I've done my homework, completed interviews and worked with so many Life Coaches I know this is an issue... so to help you, I've intertwined some valuable tips throughout the content to help you through.... do you see what I'm getting at here?

Connection is where it's at.

Communication Tip #4: Know your audience and get specific.

I do love you.

I love your work, I love your personality, I love your human-ness and I know you have the ability to be real and to share in a connective way on social media.

Do it.. be the one that's different. There are plenty of fish in the sea - but all it takes is one to capture the attention of another for a new chapter to begin.

Big love,

Melanie xo

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients and runs
Entrepreneur Artistry Program Ignition,
for upcoming entrepreneurs to step into their power as Change Makers & Thought Leaders.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs community.

Her creativity will blow your mind, as she will help to propel your vision into reality and stand out from the crowd in the online space. www.seedtosoul.com.au

Follow Melanie on &

Facebook: It sucked me in & spat me out mind-numbed

I actually can't remember the last time I owned a television for the purposes of free to air tv... I think 2012 was when I said adios to the box and being bombarded with ideas and concepts that only made me angry, and not to mention loath the consistent run of adverts.

Then a couple of years later I took it one step further and left the country! Perhaps not particularly for the pure intention of escaping western tv exactly - but it was a nice added bonus to leave that white noise behind. Instead, spending the majority of my time in a creative bubble by rice paddy fields, focusing on learning, my clients, my creativity, and my business without annoying distractions.

There have been big world events that I have missed, and people have gawked at me in disbelief when I've told them I have no idea what they are talking about... so what.

I was listening to this guy, Derek Weida, on Facebook the other day and he spoke about his 3 foot circle rule (there is bad language in the video - just fyi!)... but basically, his thoughts are if you can't control it, or influence it, then don't care about it. I like it and follow it because it's SO easy for your time and energy to be consumed in ways that aren't actually serving you.

He also then talks about the media... and it's at this point that:

I do believe Facebook has officially been bombarded with the same boring as batshit information as television produces.

Why do I say this...?

Because yesterday I spent a stupid amount of time mesmerised and scrolling through my newsfeed and before I knew it three hours had passed.... wtf? I'm on a tropical island... there are SO many better ways I could have spent my time.

Hmmm... I think I just got sucked in to Facebook the way TV used to do it to me.

From a business perspective there USED TO BE a distinct line between using Facebook for business or pleasure... & now that line has seriously become blurry.

What used to be about connecting with friends and seeing what they are up to (which I love and adore, particularly as I have friends all around the world), has all of a sudden become a mish-mash of 'news' and 'information' that I don't really care about. In my 3 hours of mind numbing scrolling I saw:

An amazing new kitchen product that could cut my slice of cake perfectly every time I was being sold plane tickets to ManillaSoap to make me feel cleanI think I saw about 10 videos about Trump that I've seen 1,000 times beforeOccasionally a cute video of a puppy playing the piano And a whole heap of FB LIVE video's with people wanting to share with me exactly what they are doing right now... did I know these people? Not particularly. Did I watch them... no, not particularly.

An interesting scenario to be in when I run my own online business and social media is the way that I connect with my people and help them to better their business... {insert scratching head emoji}.

So what's my take-away from all of this?

What do you do when your business is reliant on connecting with others via social media for creating business momentum, but the social media platform is boring you? Get savvy.

If you feel like you are sounding like the rest, then you probably are... AND this is not going to serve you.

Think about your content and how you are delivering it... would you watch yourself? Do you make yourself laugh? Are you entertaining? Entrepreneur Artistry is key here... The landscape of social media changes super fast, and this means you need to be able to change your strategies to accompany what's happening in technology too. Some may see it as a huge hurdle... I see this as a play ground for online entrepreneurs.

How CAN you stand out from the white noise? I'd also like to add here, sometimes it's the quiet ones who get the best results - you don't need to be a screamer. In fact if you are screaming... regularly... you're probably annoying.

In the meantime, hello personal Facebook ban! No more mindless scrolling from me. If I'm in - I'm there for a purpose and that's it. Not sure exactly how I'm going to keep up with what my friends and loved ones are doing around the globe so easily anymore... but I'm sure some new technology will pop up at some point to allow this to happen. Be Seen. Be Heard... and what ever you do, don't follow the pack. Big love,

Melanie xo

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie Midegs in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients and runs Entrepreneur Artistry Program Ignition, for upcoming entrepreneurs to step into their power as Change Makers & Thought Leaders. On one side I drew my family... and on the other I drew this little island, with a coconut tree and an 'islander man' in a grass skirt. I wish I still had it - but it looked something like this:

So even as a wee girl who had never even experienced a tropical island, and who was growing up in the inland depths of a man made political city (could you get any different!), the intention was set. So far I have visited Fiji, Tenerife, Rarotonga, Atiu, Aitutaki, Lombok and Bali.

The most basic airport I've ever been to in Atiu - this was it!

The thing is, when you hang out on a tropical island for long enough, and with this amazing technology called the internet... I am asked questions all the time about Bali from all walks of life - mostly from Facebook but even from places like Tinder! ...where to sleep? where to go? where to hold my retreat? In fact if I had $1 for every time, I'm pretty sure I'd be well on my way to owning my own tropical island.

So basically, to make my life easier (yes this is a self indulgent blog) here are my personal recommendations... but please note, I take no responsibility for your Bali experience. This island is pretty special and will dish out all sorts of obstacles for you if you need to learn something (just sayin'...).

Co-Working

Hubud in Ubud. My first main hang out that I used to visit a lot. Hubud has truly expanded since I first walked in their doors. I'm not there so frequently these days, but I do still duck in from time to time - and their social events are pretty awesome. I have made some very cool friendships and working relationships from this amazing bamboo office... totally has my thumbs up.

Dojo Bali in Canggu. Now here is a place that is starting to capture my attention (and probably because I'm keen to make a sea change to Canggu). A Co-working space with pool and 5mins from the beach... not bad! Dojo used to be another co-working space a couple of years ago and the referb they have made is outstanding - loving it.

Outpost in Ubud. On the days I know I need peace, quiet and a studious atmosphere to get a pile of to-do's done... I head here. Downstairs is a huge air-conditioned room that feels like a library. No talking allowed (!... but sometimes you need that), spacious desks and plenty of light. Great coffee too and they can organise food delivery.

Cafe's with Wifi

You pretty much can get wifi at every cafe in Bali... in fact I think it's more readily available than in countries like Australia! Perfect for wanderlust entrepreneurs who are tripping around while bring their online creations to life. I've also met new friends, had unexpected deep conversations with strangers and even learnt a thing of two from hanging out in coffee shops.

Seniman Cafe: Ubud.
Right in the middle of town you'll find a hub of coffee connoisseurs. They are currently even creating a specific coffee workshop area! However, inside the cafe you'll find a huge communal table to sit at which makes meeting others super easy. Unfortunately the coffee & fast wifi does outweigh the food - can be a hit and miss.

Kismet: Ubud. This restaurant & boutique is also right in the middle of Ubud and is my new favourite to frequent at. Or maybe not..? But, it's actually pretty cool inside - very comfy, great selection of flicks and meat eaters are allowed... just don't mention it.

Clear Cafe: Ubud.Nice location overlooking a gully and local temple. Again, there are thousands of possibilities here and it really depends on how many people, the type of retreat, and your budget... I say go for Google & AirBNB! Just to note here... make sure you check out the visa regulations for holding retreats. It's your own decision in the end, but I would be doing you a dis-service if I didn't share that I've heard many stories of retreats being shut down because they didn't have the right visa. That said... plenty still go ahead - so the choice is yours.

Villa Beji Indah: Ubud.If you are looking for a high end venue that is intimate and special for your peeps, and right in the middle of Ubud, I'd highly recommend this location. If you want a truly Balinese yoga experience you must go to a class with Ketut. For me it's one of the most divine classes I have ever experienced. I promise that Ketut will make you laugh and if not he'll make himself laugh. Just go with an open mind and you will enjoy. Admittedly I've not been to any other yoga class in Canggu other than Desa Seni, however it's a truly beautiful location with regular classes and meditations. (Accommodation also available)

Ubud V's Canggu

There have been many a conversation, many an article and many opinions about what location is better... and to be honest - one isn't better than the other... they are just different. Ha! There is my balanced and very Libran walking on the fence answer for you.Ubud

Ubud is renown for it's spirituality, yoga and hundreds of women gravitating to the area for self-healing and to reconnect to the true woman inside. It's a place where more often than not you are asked would you like cashew, almond or coconut milk with your coffee as a standard, and where it's completely normal to line up for Ecstatic Dance at 9am on a Sunday morning. Probably because everyone is usually in bed by 10pm. It's where the spiritual can totally dive into their craft without question, and talk of the moon and stars always comes out to play. And I mean always.

Ubud, does however have a very strong entrepreneurial community and it's up to you which circles you choose to connect with. I'll be honest, when I first arrived in Bali I was in Canggu, but found it really difficult to find my feet down there - at the time there was no awesome co-working space to hang out at, and everyone I was connecting with was in Ubud... so I made the move. The spiritual circles were nice, but I really needed to find some Entrepreneurial peeps and to that end, Ubud, and in particular Hubud was the place I found my feet in Bali. After tapping into a like minded crew it was then time to grow exponentially on a personal level, and have felt nurtured pretty much every step of the way.

However... you will also know when it's time to leave.

I don't know whether it's the guy that turned up to yoga class in his undies, complete with man-bun and grunted the whole way through the class, or the fact that it seems to have rained so much here for the last 6 months, or that the ratio of women to men does not favour women, that I think I'm ready to head back to the Gu.

Canggu

Yeah this place has a pulse that oozes masculinity and coolness. Some are put off by 'the scene', and when I first arrived I did find it somewhat intimidating. Perhaps it was the never ending trail of topless, tattooed, muscly men on loud motorbikes, and the just as gorgeous women owning their identities and rocking around in style? Who knows... however, I think how you feel about it is just a reflection of where you are personally. Canggu is filled with incredibly creative people - mostly to do with fashion, design, tattoos and... Crossfit.

Canggu has an edge, but it's nothing to be worried about and I feel it's a great place to let your sexy confident side come out to play and own it. The 'Gu' as it's commonly called is a surfing community, it's not as touristy as neighbouring Seminyak (and I'm not even going to mention Kuta as I don't even think that is Bali!), plenty of beach time, it's easy to stay out late (yay!), and it's a little closer to a western reality than perhaps the high vibing Ubud.

It's definitely worth a visit if not just for the people watching, or to take in a beach sunset complete with Bintang and grilled piece of corn at Old Man's. Actually, I lie, there is plenty of spiritual practice going on down there too... in fact there is an endless number of new places popping up and every time I visit there is something new to check out.

So in conclusion, don't take my word for it - check out both locations for yourself and just trust. Trust when you arrive in Bali that you will meet the right people, you will see the right sign, you will feel where to go and everything will work out just fine.

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie in Bali, Indonesia.

Melanie mentors private clients and runs Entrepreneur Artistry Program Ignition, for upcoming entrepreneurs to step into their power as Change Makers & Thought Leaders.

She is also the founder of The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurscommunity. What the f*ck was I going to do? The universe had rewarded me well for not listening to the signs. My body ached and was heavy, I felt like I had purged enough for humanity as a whole. My family was worried, asking me to please come home to Australia...

...but I knew deep inside that this was exactly where I needed to be.

This wasn't a bug or a virus... this was 100% dis-ease and changing location wasn't going to fix it. Happiness these days was a figment of my imagination that I was trying so desperately to cling to.

Why on earth would I not be happy? I had left the 9-5 rat race, I'd created my own business... I was living on a tropical island for crying out loud! But you can't fake a feeling.

I knew it was time to revisit that question again that seemed to taunt me on and off for years, even decades. Why are you here Mel? What is your reason for even being on this planet? You have gifts, you have talents... why aren't you embracing them and using them?

By my bed I had my usual pile of self-help books. Everything I read made complete and utter sense. I am not shy to say that I'm a smart cookie, I'm not new to the world of personal development and understanding concepts of energetics, new thought paradigms and the connection we have with the reality we create around us. However, I'm also humble enough to know that I don't have all the answers and sometimes the most obvious answers can be the hardest to see - especially when it's you who's going through the disruption. It confused me as I felt like I'd taken the plunge and followed my heart SO many times in my life, even when it made no sense at all. That wasn't the problem. Courage was not my problem. There was still something a-miss.

I thought deep about every aspect of my business, my clients, my products, my services, the way I communicated about what I did... and as wrote down what I liked and what I didn't, I realised it just didn't feel real - it wasn't the real me. This is why I was in such turmoil and state of dis-ease. There is only so long you can keep up a facade... especially with yourself.

The personal expectations I had on myself based on those who ran in my circles and what I witnessed around me was out of this world. Looking back, how ridiculous - but we're human... I believe we'll keep comparing and forgetting ourselves, until we get it... and of course be reminded by circumstance how ever that plays out.

It was in this moment that I decided that my tribe, the community I wanted to create had to have Soul. It had to be real and it had to be a safe place for Entrepreneurs to explore who they really are. It's more than just creating products and services... your business is an extension of you.

I was also tired of seeing the same people showing up in the online spaces I frequented, all doing the same kind of thing. If there is one thing that drives me mad, it's looking like everyone else. God, I remember when I lived in York in England and every girl seemed to have the same haircut and look the same... I thought, why the hell would you want to do that?! How will anyone notice you?Do you know how many brilliant and amazing women and men there are changing peoples lives every single day? It's no secret, and I say it often, I really tire of women only communities. Don't get me wrong, they definitely have their place and I enjoy them at times - but the segregation doesn't sit well with me. Not when we all have the same vision of making this world a better place, learning to live via experience, feeling & creativity, while helping others to do the same.

Since becoming a 'digital nomad' living in a wanderlust community where it's completely normal to be sitting around a coffee table with multiple nationalities, all creating business from coaching, non-for-profit, technology advancement, trading, property development or creative products... I'm forever in awe with what people are achieving and how many stories are running under the surface of a very busy online 'scene'.

That's when it hit me... I want to expose the underdogs, the amazing beings who have brilliant minds and the world needs. Let their voice be heard and hear their teachings. Everyone can learn from everyone - there is not one person who has all the answers.

So if you have someone up on a pedestal I urge you to bring them down a notch or two, and if you feel like you are a couple of notches down I urge you to step up. We are all human beings here doing the best we can with what we know... and this is what The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs is all about.

If you have stepped into the Entrepreneurial space and are ready to be seen and heard I want to hear from you - perhaps you can be my next special guest? Do you have a Entrepreneurial story to share (I particularly love these), do you help people in the realms of personal development and spirituality, or do you get a kick out of helping others with business strategy?

Even better... do you know someone who deserves to be seen and heard. We all left the 9-5 for a reason, and one of those was probably because you felt stifled by rules, regulations, doing work that was unfulfilling and working hard to put cash in someone else's pocket.

Shall We Talk About

The White Elephant In the Room?

Be mindful of becoming 'sheepish' in the world of Entrepreneurship. Be mindful of the communities and coaches you engage to work with. Are they really wanting to help empower you to be a leader in your area, or are they empowering you by cloning you?

Just think about that for a little bit....

Beyond The Strategy Is A Need For A Unique Vibe.

Creating business momentum from 'start-up strategies' are great. In fact these are awesome learning experiences to understand what running a business really means, and how marketing and communication actually works to attract clients. Using Facebook Groups are also a great place to start, as they will allow you to test and trail your products and services with your market at no cost. But there will come a point where you will want, and have the deep desire for your business to step up. Do you really want to be hanging out in Facebook Groups for the rest of your life? or Instagram or LinkedIn... where ever you are connecting with new clients? I'm pretty sure you just said a big - NO!!! "So how do you get out?" I hear you ask...

Become A Leader.

To do this you need to start thinking about how you want to show up as a leader. How you want to attract your tribe and provide them with an experience that's different, exciting & of benefit to them. I adore my Facebook Community The Soul Lounge for Entrepreneurs... and every day somebody tells me how great and refreshing it is. But believe me - there is a much bigger plan in action, and it includes a transition out of the need for Facebook Groups.

As technology keeps changing, so do algorithms and social media features. Part of being an Entrepreneur is being able to see the bigger vision for yourself. Being able act with agility by using the tools available to you, to then create & grow a sustainable business that runs in a way that suits you.

There is no separation between you and your business. There were so many highlights, and I've been reflecting on what was my biggest takeaway was from the event that I could share with you. Here it is...

Sharing Your Story Will Strengthen You More Than You'll Ever Know

On Monday morning, after the conference, I started to pack my suitcase... flying from one to-do to the next. When all of a sudden I stopped. I just stopped what I was doing. I put down what I was holding, went over to the window of my temporary and beautiful Melbourne apartment and pulled the curtains wide open. I sat in the huge lounge chair that looked out over the park outside and I smiled. I picked up my journal and I began to write because I wanted to capture how I was feeling in that exact moment.
I wanted to capture the feeling of doing the work that I know I am here to do, and that it encompassed everything that I love so much. Travelling, connecting, being creative, teaching, speaking, inspiring and most of all... sharing my story to help others.I was here. The moment where I could tick all of the boxes... it is so true life is not about arriving at a destination. It's the experiences that we have along the way that leave us in a state of wanting to do more.

Life truly is amazing if you allow yourself to let go. Today as I sit writing this blog post from another amazing city Sydney, I'm still smiling at my own creations. If you need help to reach your goals there are three ways you can work with me right now:
1) Purchase the latest edition of my Business Chakra Workbook. It will provide you with the tools to empower yourself to step out of your comfort zone. 2) Find your Zone of Genius via a Face Reading for Business Session. Your body is a reflection of your strengths & weaknesses. Acknowledge what is going on and make changes to work in a way that serves you. 3) Let's work one:one! If failure is not an option and you are ready to make an impact on the world with your work. Let's connect and see if I'm the right person to help your vision become real.

Being confident in your business and being able to walk your talk will make all the difference in your world.

Big love,

Melanie xo

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie in Bali, Indonesia. I believe in synchronicity and that everything happens for a reason... and I do believe that I've ended up in Bali for a reason.

There is no separation between you & your business... ...spirituality is part of the deal.

I am quite a practical person. I love structure, I love having a plan and when there is a system in place that's working well, I get all giddy (can't believe I just said that - but it's true). And all of these aspects of myself became precedent in the lead up to Christmas and into the new year. My business had taken off, and the business treadmill went from a 7 to a 10. My spiritual practice took a back seat, in fact I think I actually kicked it out of the car - there was no time to sit, reflect and meditate. The best I could do was kinda think about maybe doing some meditation as I tried to sleep at night, while my body was so full of adrenalin and worry.

Follow the cravings of your heart... ...otherwise your body will show them to you ...& not necessarily in the nicest of ways.

My heart yearned for quiet, it yearned for connection, it yearned to rest. I had mastered the art of business rituals (still going strong - this week's blog is here!), however I was yet to learn the art of creating personal ritual to take care of myself. It sounds crazy, especially given that I teach the Business Chakra System... But you know what, we are all human, we are all different and we all need to work out how to listen to our individual needs. When starting your own business, you will have to operate in a new way and find your new tipping points. There will never be a book, or a seminar or a world renown spiritual teacher to teach you what that tipping point is... it is something that you will need to experience for yourself. Sorry - no magic pill for this one! For the past 6 weeks I have made having ritual and spiritual practice an absolute MUST in my world - and it has felt weird... I've also had to ask for help to assist me in this area. I've really had to be diligent, book in time and make my spiritual practices a priority... and guess what? Not only am I experiencing a better quality of life but my business is also reaching new levels.

Today Edy, my Bali Medicine Man, (he doesn't like me calling him that - but ever since I met him in 2014, we always talk about spirituality while he's driving me around), drove me to the Tirta Empul Temple and told me:

"There is no point in seeking out a Guru unless you are willing to do what they say. The messages they receive to pass onto you are sacred, and if you don't do it then there is no point until you are ready".

Yeah... he's totally more than just my Balinese driver.Believe in yourself & take care of you. I'd like to tell you not to wait until the wheels fall off - but perhaps the wheels falling off are part of your unique growth process... who knows... I don't have your answers - only you do. Become aware and listen to your heart for the signs. It was really interesting to be on the other side of the process, live and in a group situation. I'm an absolute advocate for interviewing target markets, and my experience was a perfect example and validation of how important it is to choose the right people to collect your information from.

The vision was BIG… and can I tell you – if they get this idea off the ground I do believe they will be onto a winner.

Picture this though, there were 7 hungry and determined entrepreneurs in the room all SUPER excited by the idea that was being presented… however by the end, there was also a level of confusion. I believe this is because within the 7 people in the room, there were at least 3 levels of Entrepreneur – and this makes a huge difference.

CRAPPINESS

Is what you get when you sand off the edges to make everyone happy.- Seth Godin

The reason I’m blogging about this experience is to give you an actual example of how if you say you are working with Entrepreneurs, Mum’s, Dad’s, Women, Men, Hairdressers, Artists, Mechanics or Coffee Brewers… who ever it is – you will need to dig deeper. I presented a free training recently called Reality Bites: How To Manage Your Business Expectations & Know What To Focus On First. In this training I gave an example of the three initial levels of success there are for entrepreneurs because the needs and requirements are different:Start Up - under $3k profit per month

Momentum - between $3-$10k profit per month

Established - over $10K profit per month

This type of framework can be translated into any group or demographic of ideal customers. For example from the groups I named above:ArtistsStart Up: Hobbyists

Momentum: Transitioning to earning an income

Established: Well know artistMum’sStart Up: Experiencing motherhood for the first time

Momentum: Have a couple of kidsEstablished: Kids have now left the nest

Mechanics:Start Up: Studying or in Apprenticeship

Momentum: Supervisor at a workshop

Established: Specialising in an area or running a business At every level there will be different needs and wants. Understanding this is where the GOLD is for you to be able to communicate about your business effectively. Defining your target market is essential to your business success… and remember – you can always have multiple target markets that you cater for. It's a shame the hardest part is one of the first steps, which is why people struggle in the start-up phase so much... but if you can persevere, focus and know that getting this bit right really will set you up for success - you'll be on the right track! The first ideal customer I started out with was me!... well... an earlier version of me. My first ideal client was someone who was stuck in the 9-5 and dreaming of a better life - knowing there had to be more to life than a corporate office. The reason I started here because I could go back and remember my experiences and really connect with the emotions I was feeling at that point in my life.... and putting myself back in those shoes and writing my copy from that space was how I was able to connect with my audience.

BUT...!

Yes, there is a but... I found it really hard to find this audience online. I was able to connect to them via running workshops, but I wanted to create an online business and I couldn't seem to track down exactly how to find them online - PROBLEM!

So, instead of giving up I went into problem solving mode and started exploring Facebook Groups and discovering who were hanging out in theses groups... and then seeing the connection of how I could help the people in these groups with my gifts, skills and talents.

I found a new ideal customer, and these were women who were already on the journey of leaving the 9-5. Changing my niche and finding them suddenly made my life a whole lot easier. One thing to remember is to know that your niche will change as you grow. As you and your business become more successful you will become clearer and clearer about who you really want to work with an how you can help them.

You may in the end even end up with a couple of ideal customer niches, however in the first instance I say stick to one. If you try and serve everyone in the beginning will get you nowhere very quickly... that I do know for sure.

PLEASE REMEMBER that this really is one of the hardest parts of creating your business so be kind to yourself during the process. If you are really stuck and just not sure how to go about it, look me up - I can help you!

Big love,

Melanie xo

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie in Bali, Indonesia. If I glean no new insights from a face reading, it’s not so bad as a poke in the eye!

So, another perfect afternoon in paradise, with white clouds puffing lazily across the sky and the sun making the rice paddy gleam brightest emerald. We sit across the tiny table in my residence, while the insects sing, “life-life-life-life-life.”

I feel a bit scared. Face reading, schmace reading. I have me mother’s jawline and my dad’s nose, and ears from who-knows-where—and I don’t feel that I’m much like any of them! I’m so completely different, how can this possibly make sense?

But—what if she looks at my face and reads there all my confused, messy—and to me, precious—interior which I guard, so that I feel naked and exposed? Yet, there’s the strong urge to be seen and known…And, what the twaddle?! I feel a twinge of anger. If it’s all crap, then why am I worried about any of this?

Do I have to take off my glasses?

No, that’s OK.

Good—I’m a completely different (blind and confused) person without them. Nervous laughter.

A settling in. She begins.

**

In my view, all healers and readers should have voices as kind, and yet matter-of-fact, as Melanie. It’s very reassuring. I start to relax.

Over the next hour, she goes from forehead to cheeks, to eyes, to nose, and in seeming ease reflects to me many things I know to be true, raises questions I feel are worth exploring, and—most disconcertingly—describes some things about my life that no one but a close friend could know. What-the-twaddle?!

So, I’m taking away what I can. What’s worthwhile. I have a lot to think about here that’s challenging and helpful. I haven’t a clue why this seemed to make sense. I’ve not stopped being a skeptic, but I hear myself pronouncing a mantra I’ve repeated a lot here in Bali:

I just don’t know and probably never will; but I’m suspending disbelief in order to be in the moment and accept the good that comes my way.

_______________________________________________________________

Loretta Rose works internationally providing facilitation, training, curriculum development, and writing—mainly for humanitarian organizations. Logic & Emotion. Control & Flexibility. Giving & Receiving. Life can feel like it's a continual balancing of the scales. However, when we get the balance right the outcomes are phenomenal, especially for Entrepreneurs. When we get the balance right everything starts to flow and feels light and effortless... and that's what we are all striving for right? To help the world, in our own way, so that we can live the lifestyle that we choose.

It all sounds very well and good - but putting it into practice can be a hurdle! For me, I've definitely had a dominant masculine energy to manage, and my ways of operating have usually fallen into the categories of intellect, logic, control and giving. Stepping into the entrepreneurial world I knew this had to change because:

I needed to learn how to open myself up to receiving.
My personality and creativity needed to be present to allow me to really connect with my audience.

If I continue to 'do' all the time I knew I'd be heading down the path of exhaustion, burn out and even the possibility of giving up.

Here is an insight I experienced with my own balance the other night: (view video here)

Understanding that your body is a true reflection of where you are emotionally and mentally is so important. It has been the catalyst for me leaving the 9-5 office grind and actually creating a life that I loved. Our body is intelligent and it doesn't lie - we can't hide behind it... it just is. The more we work with it rather than ignoring it, the more our life improves for the better.

As a Face Reader, it blows me away to provide insights to my clients about what their body is reflecting. Your whole body can be seen in your face, and it's a very practical yet gentle process of understanding who you are, your strengths and weaknesses... and most importantly, acknowledging the greatness of who you are.

The power of the body is amazing and is a super intelligent tool waiting to guide you. In business, it truly has been my road map. There is no secret formula to business success - a lot of the answers are within you. Yes we can follow structure to help us learn and grow. But the essence, individuality and gifts that you have to offer the world can't be learnt from someone else... it's all within you. Give yourself the credit you deserve, step out and spread your message. We need you!

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie in Bali, Indonesia. Broke feels yucky. Broke is broken, shattered, in pieces. So when you are low on money, how do you feel? You are not broken, but it feels like it. You can’t go out with your friends. Broke feels yucky. Broke is broken, shattered, in pieces. So when you are low on money, how do you feel? You are not broken, but it feels like it. You can’t go out with your friends. Those cute shoes, too bad. You are packing your lunch, eating ramen noodles and waxing your own eyebrows. How is a girl supposed to feel better? Not having money in the bank shouldn't define you. Let’s see if we can drum up a good thought or two.

First off, why are you broke? Everyone should have an emergency fund in the bank, at least 6 months’ worth. Your car could break down, an unexpected illness, the cat got sick kind of emergency fund. The emergency is not the little black dress you wanted for a party. That is a want, not a need. An emergency fund is for a need. You needed the part to fix your car. If your car doesn’t run, you can’t get to work. If you can’t get to work, you don’t get paid. See, these are needs.

A want is totally different. That little red dress is just to die for. It couldn’t be any yummier. It is just the right shade and matches your black pumps. Your date will just love it. You can wear it to your cousin's wedding in the summer. You even have a clutch that is perfect to go along. How precious is that, I ask you?

Do you need the dress? No. Will your date care? No. You have clothing. Clothing is a need, if you have none. Your desire for the cutest red dress ever doesn’t make the mark. Your want it something fierce, but again it's a want.

So you are eating ramen noodles and watching reruns of Friends, yuck! Your friends are out on the town. You are on the sofa, the cat threw up and you want to cry. So cry for a bit, dab your eyes, and pet the cat. You need (not want) an adjustment in attitude.

Get out your journal and a pen. Write down 5 people who love you. They can be family, best friends, whomever. Okay, got that? Now write down five things you see that are beautiful. It can be the cat, the picture of your grandparents, your favorite book, whatever you can see. These are things you think are beautiful. Now write down five things you are thankful for. It can be your job, your landlord who fixed your faucet, air conditioning, anything you are thankful for.

Now stop and read your list aloud. Five people love you, they truly do. Now read the five beautiful things you see in your apartment. Great now the five things you are thankful for, a faucet and clean water. Now think of all you truly have. Not so broke after all.

Hi, I’m Maria Hinton and I’m THE money mindset coachfor women entrepreneurs who’re ready to get up, get going and get back in the black (translation? making that money, honey). You are pumped and really want to do it. You start looking around for your hiking boots but can't find them anywhere. While you are looking for them you start sharing your dream of climbing the mountain with others, but they begin to tell you about their horror stories like all the snakes there are and what you 'might' find along the way. Slowly your enthusiasm becomes squashed and in the end it's just another dream that you tuck safely away in a box.

I've been there, putting my dreams into a box. Thankfully I kept them all safely hidden under my bed, because one day I realised - that is no way for an entrepreneur to be thinking. Entrepreneurs are open minded, problem solving, adventurers and change makers of the world. And the biggest quality of an entrepreneur is that they make their own change, love to collaborate, connect and help each other! I was sharing my dreams with the wrong people and I had find my tribe to thrive.

The entrepreneurial community in Bali is huge! Every single day I am making new connections, engaging in thought provoking conversations, helping others along their online business journey and experiencing a new way of living that for me, feels like the ultimate way of being.

I scoot through a Monkey Forests to make Skype calls. I join in on conversations in cafes. I meet more new people in person that I've connected with online in Bali than I ever have before. And the time and space I have to be creative with my business and get things done has never been so strong.

So even if a trip to Bali feels like the highest mountain ever for you to climb, don't worry about the hiking boots as everyone here is in bare feet. Seek out and connect with online communities or even connect with myself. We can show you a new way of living and how running your online business from the mountain top that is Bali is totally life changing.

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie in Bali, Indonesia. Your eyes represent the energy of your heart and the strength of who you are. It's no surprise to me that so many entrepreneurs love their eyes because they are following their big hearts. They are bringing positive change and enjoyment to the world in their own unique way. This is the reason why they love what they do. That's not to say that if you

When I ask entrepreneurs to tell me the favourite feature of their face, 8 times out of 10 they tell me their eyes, and I have a theory about this. Your eyes represent the energy of your heart and the strength of who you are. It's no surprise to me that so many entrepreneurs love their eyes because they are following their big hearts. They are bringing positive change and enjoyment to the world in their own unique way. This is the reason why they love what they do.

That's not to say that if you like a different feature of your face, like your lips, nose or eyebrows that you have no heart! By no means at all, it just means there is another juicy aspect of yourself that you really love to express.

When I look at someones eyes during a coaching session, it provides me with insight to how my client ticks and their business. One of the first things I look at during a Face Reading is the colour. The colours blue, brown and green all hold a different personality traits that can help to explain what you need to be mindful of and what strengths you should utilise more in your business.

Blue Eyes are the sensitive souls of the world, more so than the others. It means that you can you find it easy to feel what is going on around you without even having to say anything, and you will also hold a strong humanitarian nature. When it comes to business it's your compassion for others that will be a big part of what you do, just remember not to take it all on! Yes you can help others and you want to, but remember you need to put on your own breathing mask first before you assist others. It's important for you to cleanse your energy frequently. If you begin to feel any heaviness, ask yourself if what you are feeling is yours or someone elses? If it's not yours - then wash it away... literally! Go have a cold shower and wash that energy away, as you need to be as clear as possible for you to do your best work.

Brown Eyes are the earthy and passionate ones in the world. I often refer to the Italians, Spanish and South American's to explain the essence of brown eyes. These people are passionate with a capital P! When they are angry they are so very angry and when they are in love, they are completely head over heels in love. They express how they feel and are guided by that passionate emotion in everything that they do. For you to succeed in business it's so important that 'Passion' is your mantra. For you and your business to flow with ease and grace you must keep in touch with your gut feelings, express yourself and follow your emotion. Most of all you must love, Love, LOVE what you do - it's important for everyone, but especially you! Put ambiance into everything, what you eat, how you exercise, your office - everywhere. Once you do this you will feel a change.

Green Eyes are the courageous souls on the planet. You guys can often wonder why you feel like you have to do everything on your own, however your strength and your essence is pure courage. Your core strength exudes the courage to step outside of your comfort zone which, yes, usually does have an element of loneliness to it. That is until you lead the way and help others to do the same, then it doesn't feel so lonely any more. You'll tend to love adventure and trying new things and this will be a catalyst to your business success. Find like minded people to support you when you feel a bit shaky... some simple words of encouragement (and these can be from yourself) will help you achieve extraordinary things that haven't even entered your mind of yet - you are here to do great things!

There is so much more than meets the eye when it comes to understanding your body, mind and business. Begin to understand your strengths and essence of who you are and watch out world because you will be performing at your best!

An avid lover of fresh coconuts, you will often find Melanie in Bali, Indonesia. Organically they learn together, grow together and work together. Collaboration at its best in any industry means anything is possible!

So where do you go if you’re an online entrepreneur? The current revolution of big hearted change makers, who are kicking in their corner office to actually stand up for positive change and a life of passion, freedom and flexibility, has exploded! But where is the hub for all these laptop junkies? Are they meeting up in Google Hangouts drinking virtual coffees?

No way! In fact, the pumping heart of intensely high entrepreneurial energy is live and kicking from a small island in Indonesia called Bali. If you want to take your online business to the next level, this my friend is where it’s at. For me it’s the Hollywood, Wall Street and Paris for online entrepreneurs.

Bali, especially Ubud, is like a continuous festival for entrepreneurs. There is a huge range of talent and every conversation is a showcase of what’s new and about to hit the market. It’s exciting, inspiring and even though every individual walks to a different beat, somehow there is a syncopated energy between us all. There is an ease and a knowing that you’ll have a conversation with the right person at the right time, and that these conversations will change you and the way you work.

If I could bottle this energy and sell it – I know I’d make a motza!… but I couldn’t figure out. So, instead I’m inviting entrepreneurs to come join me. You have to because it’s out of this world! Immerse yourself in this dynamic dimension that is stimulating, inspiring and will take you to new heights in everything that you do.

Trust me – it will change you.

The Truth About Leaving the 9-5

Well, I've done it! I'm living out my passion and have created a life that I love. I've swapped the corporate office for outdoor cafe's, going to the gym for walks on the beach, and surrounding myself with a community of co-workers to surrounding myself with a community of like-minded, heart-centered, awesome entrepreneurs. But it's not all been sunshine and coconuts, which is why I put together an audio on the truth about leaving the 9-5. Leaving the 9-5 means a few things. First of all It

But it's not all been sunshine and coconuts, which is why .

Leaving the 9-5 means a few things. First of all It means that you have to get to know yourself inside-out, back-to-front and upside-down. For many of us, me included, I joined the 9-5 because it seemed like the most logical next step. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do back when I was 19 (please raise your hand if you did), and working in an office was something I knew I could do. The thing is over time I started to believe it was the only thing I could do. Every time I tried to do something else it didn't seem to work and I'd end up back in the office. So here is what I did to leave the 9-5.

Understand Behaviour To bring positive change into my life I needed to know how I ticked, otherwise guess what... I was going to experience the same thing over and over again. Which is exactly what was happening. I caught myself saying and thinking things like 'This always happens to me' or 'How come I always attract ______ into my life'. The reason why this was happening was because I was taking action based on a belief system I built on past experience.Example: For a very long time I believed that I was not worthy of making a living from anything other than working in an office, which is why I would always end up back in those positions. It felt safe and I knew I could do that job. That is simply not true - you CAN do what ever you choose to do, it is safe and you are worth it.

Know Your Passion The only way to be successful in transitioning out of the 9-5 is to follow your passion. If you try to do it for any other reason it's just not going to work and guess where you'll end up... back in the 9-5. You know why I know this? because I tried it. I tried to do things that I thought could earn me an income rather doing what I truly loved and it backfired on me big time, and I ended up back at square one. Know your passion - it will take you to where you want to be.

Find People To Support You You can try it on your own, but let me tell you - you'll be doing it the hard way. At first I tried to do everything on my own and it was really hard. In fact I almost gave up, except my desire to stay out of the 9-5 was so strong that I kept going. Although, second time round I changed tactics and started to seek expert advice from people who had actually made the move themselves. It made a huge difference and this was when I began to fly.

The truth is, it's not an easy path out of the 9-5, but lucky for you one of my true passions is to help people like you make the move! For me helping others with this is so important because I know what it's like to be stuck doing something you simply just do not love. It's disheartening, depressing and not to mention annoying. I've met so many people who have the most amazing gifts and talents but they are stuck doing a job in the 9-5. I believe you are here to shine and I talk more about this on my audio. You deserve to be happy.

So my friends, if you want to transition out of the 9-5 and into a life you love, there is a lot do. But, can I just tell you... it is SOOO worth it! When you make that decision and take the next step, you will grow, you will learn and you will experience a world like no other... a world of happiness and infinite possibilities.

How To Receive A Miracle

I would really love to meet someone who has made a huge change in their life and didn't experience any type of stress or anxiousness before it happened. However the truth is, there will be a whole lot you don't know about going on in the background. It takes a whole lot of courage and resilience to change ways of living. After all we are creatures of habit and I would like to acknowledge everyone out there who has made a lifestyle change or even given it a go - you are amazing people!

While moving through change miracles always help and are a beautiful reminder that you are on the right track. Here are my three sure fire ways to open yourself up to a miracle during times of change:

Be clear with why you are making the change. Is it something that you know will enhance your life and is it in alignment with who you are and what you love.

Detach yourself from outcomes and expectations. If it happens that's great, but if it doesn't that's ok too - trust that you will be provided with whatever you need. Oh, and stop worrying about it!

Gratitude Gratitude Gratitude. Be grateful for everyone and everything in your life. Do something for someone else just because. I kept thinking, just keep going until you get to Bali - then you can take it easy. My head being in control at this point thought that was a sound plan, however in reality it was a very bad plan. When arriving in a foreign place you want to have as much energy as possible to take it all in and navigate a new country and it's culture in your stride.

I had a little incident with my car which I talk about in my video. Even though I had been hearing and seeing the signs, it took a little bump from good old Frieda to really put things into perspective, and me into action with giving myself a little TLC.

Enjoy the video and I hope it helps you with any change you may be going through at the moment. In times when action needs to be taken quickly it's easy for us as human beings to occasionally forget to cross the 't's' and dot the 'i''s, and in my case... forget my address (cringe factor 1,000!).

I recently moved into some temporary share accommodation to help me transit to my new adventure overseas. I thought that I knew the address but it seems this was not the case. I overheard my flatmate on the phone this morning telling someone the address was 'number 28...'.

What? I have been telling everyone it's number 10. Including the Department of Immigration who I have been expecting a delivery from with my renewed passport. BIG whoops!.. Now I'm wondering where the hell I got number 10 from??

Ok, disaster recovery mode. First thing I thought was to go visit house number 10. So off I walk up the road to introduce myself as the lady who doesn't know where she lives and explain my mistake without feeling like a complete nickumpoop (seriously, who doesn't know their address?!). I find the owners working in the yard and I ask 'Excuse me, are you from number 10?', and the guy responds 'Nope, we are number 8. Number 10 doesn't exist, the next house is number 12'.

What are the chances that in a whole street the only house that doesn't exist is number 10? That's just weird. So aparently not only have I been giving out the wrong address - it doesn't even exist!

Back home, to number 28 (I won't be forgetting that in a hurry) to make some phone calls. Thankfully all is well and after a delightful call to the Dept of Immigration I now have a trusty Australia Post tracking number so I can collect my passport. Although, of course today is a public holiday in Brisbane. Bugger. Will have to wait for tomorrow.

Lesson learnt, slow down, breath and take everything in your stride. It will all work out perfect in the end... kind of. I guess it's all part of the adventure!

Anyone else have a travel blooper to make me feel a little more human?
